PROCESS
At Kyle Bunting, the process for a custom rug or mural typically begins with an initial client meeting or a client-provided moodboard. We gather key details such as dimensions, color palette, subject matter, style, overall project context (where the piece will live and how it relates to the surrounding space). From there, I develop multiple design options using Illustrator, Photoshop, and Midjourney, focusing on presenting clear visuals for client feedback. We then go back and forth on revisions, either refining a selected direction or combining elements across options.
Final Rendering
FINISHED PROJECT
Once a design is approved, we move into the rendering phase, where the artwork is translated into a production-ready Illustrator file and mapped to our cowhide color system. Additional revisions may occur at this stage until the client is fully satisfied. A strike-off is then produced for final color and dye lot approval. After sign-off, the project enters engineering to ensure it meets production requirements before moving into fabrication.
